1 Review on “Celebrant Tamara Burgess”
Tamara helped us create a marvellous, magical commemoration for Mary, my mother.
Mum was 94 and had been living with dementia for some time when she passed away. It was always going to be a small ceremony, with just immediate family (three generations, from pensioners to primary school children), and I knew I wanted something other than the 45 minute ‘in and out’ at the crematorium (we knew Mum wanted to be cremated).
We were most fortunate to have Tamara as our celebrant. She helped me and my siblings create a special celebration, which we held at home after a private cremation (sometimes called an assisted cremation).
Led by Tamara’s gentle guiding hand, we celebrated Mum’s life and everyone participated in sharing memories of Mum and the things she loved. It was a beautiful afternoon, and a memory I will cherish forever. The younger generation of family members, who could not really recall Mum pre-dementia, said it helped remind them who she really was, and for the older crew, it was a bonding moment as we relived childhood and young adult memories of our treasured mother and auntie.
