‘Welcome to our Family’! What is a Baby Naming Ceremony?
Welcoming a baby into your life, and your family, is an incredible, overwhelming, amazing and completely terrifying (!) experience.

A ‘Baby Naming Ceremony’ enables you and your family, friends and loved ones to create a personalised, meaningful way to celebrate the arrival of your new baby and welcome them. It is a non-religious alternative to a Christening or religious ceremony, and is a way to officially name your child in front of your everyone.

It can take the form of a simple declaration of your baby’s names with a party, or you may decide to include celebratory elements such as sand ceremonies, tree planting or hand and foot printing, and involve loved ones to tell the story of your family.

Perhaps you would like to also ask loved ones to become ‘guide parents’ for your child, to ensure they have the love, support and guidance outside of the family unit, for their future. This is the time to share your dreams and aspirations for your baby’s future among those who will be a huge part of their journey.

Every ‘Baby Naming Ceremony’ is unique – as every baby is unique, and every family has their own story to tell.

My role, as your celebrant, is to get to know you as a family, listen and respond to your family needs, and then create the perfect ceremony for your baby. I will then be with you for the whole ceremony to ensure that your experience is exactly how you want it to be and is totally befitting of your baby.
